Microneedling treatment is a non-surgical approach to skin rejuvenation that rejuvenates skin by combining microchannel stimulation with or without platelet-rich plasma. Unlike surface-level treatments, it effectively triggers collagen production and elastin production, enhancing texture, tone, and radiance for natural, lasting results.
Microneedling treatment is a skin rejuvenation procedure that enhances texture, tone, and firmness by stimulating your body’s natural healing response. By creating fine microchannels on the skin’s surface, it significantly boosts collagen production and elastin levels, making it an excellent choice for reducing fine lines, acne scars, and enlarged pores.
Unlike surface-only treatments, microneedling revitalizes the skin from within, leading to gradual, natural-looking improvements over several weeks. The results include smoother, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin, with benefits that can last for months and continue to enhance over time.
To achieve the best results from your microneedling treatment and minimize irritation, it’s important to prepare your skin properly for optimal collagen production. For 5–7 days prior, avoid using retinoids, glycolic acid, or other harsh exfoliating products, as these can make the skin more sensitive to the skin rejuvenation process.
If you are prone to cold sores and plan to have treatment around the mouth, let your provider know beforehand. A preventative antiviral medication may be recommended. You should also avoid alcohol, tanning, or direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
On the day of your treatment, arrive with a freshly cleansed face—free of makeup, lotions, or SPF. Wearing comfortable clothing and staying well-hydrated will help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
After cleansing your skin, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to keep you comfortable throughout the microneedling treatment.
The procedure typically takes about 45–60 minutes, depending on the areas being addressed. Using a sterile microneedling device, we create precise microchannels across the skin to stimulate your body’s natural healing response and enhance collagen production. You may feel a light vibration or “scratchy” sensation with occasional pinpoint bleeding.
Immediately after the treatment, you can expect mild warmth, tightness, and a rosy glow. Visible redness usually settles within 24–72 hours as collagen production and elastin production begin ramping up in the following weeks, leading to significant skin rejuvenation.
If you are receiving microneedling with PRP, your provider will also draw a small sample of your blood, separate the platelet-rich plasma in a centrifuge, and apply it directly to the treated skin. This enhances absorption through the microchannels, often resulting in faster healing, reduced redness, and more dramatic rejuvenation results.
Our team will guide you step by step, adjusting needle depth and pace for your comfort, and checking in throughout to ensure a smooth, reassuring experience.
Mild redness, swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation is normal after a microneedling treatment and usually improves within 24–72 hours. Some pinpoint scabbing or flaking may appear as your skin heals. To soothe the area, you can apply a cool compress in short intervals during the first day—just avoid direct ice contact and use only clean, gentle pressure.
For the first 24 hours, avoid makeup, active skincare products (such as retinoids, acids, or exfoliants), and anything that may irritate the skin. Refrain from strenuous exercise, alcohol, or heat exposure (saunas, hot tubs, tanning) for at least 24–48 hours. Be diligent with broad-spectrum SPF, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.
If your treatment included PRP, you may notice less redness and a quicker recovery, as the platelet-rich plasma enhances healing and cellular repair, further supporting collagen production.
Results develop gradually as collagen and elastin production increases. You may notice a brighter, smoother complexion within the first couple of weeks, with continued improvement over the next 1–3 months. Most patients benefit from a series of 3–4 microneedling treatments, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart, for optimal long-term skin rejuvenation.
During treatment, a microneedling device creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural healing response and stimulating collagen and elastin production. This process helps improve skin texture, tone, and overall radiance.
If your treatment includes PRP, platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood is applied and absorbed into these channels. The addition of PRP further enhances skin repair and rejuvenation, often leading to faster recovery and more noticeable results.
Microneedling with PRP can help improve:
Yes. When performed by a trained professional, microneedling is considered very safe. Because the treatment uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, there is no introduction of foreign substances. Mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity after treatment is normal and typically resolves within a few days.
If your treatment includes PRP, the platelet-rich plasma is derived from your own blood, so there’s no risk of allergic reaction or rejection—making the procedure equally safe and well-tolerated.
Most patients tolerate the treatment well. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort. You may feel a scratching or vibrating sensation, along with mild pressure, but it should not be painful.
You may experience redness, mild swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation for 1–3 days after the procedure. Makeup and active skincare products should be avoided for at least 24 hours. Most patients return to normal activities the next day, with visible results continuing to improve over several weeks as new collagen develops.
