To help reduce the risk of bruising, try to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for about 5–7 days before treatment, unless they were prescribed by your physician.
Avoid alcohol, intense exercise, and prolonged sun exposure the day before and day of your appointment. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Staying well hydrated before treatment may also help support the best possible results.
If you have a history of cold sores, skin infections, allergies, or previous reactions to injectable treatments, let your provider know before your appointment.
Your provider will cleanse the treatment area and may apply a topical numbing cream for comfort. SKINVIVE™ is injected into the skin of the cheeks using a series of small microdroplet injections.
The treatment is typically quick and well tolerated. SKINVIVE™ contains a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to help make the procedure more comfortable.

After treatment, you may experience mild redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, or small bumps at the injection sites. These effects are usually temporary and typically resolve within a few days.
Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area unless directed by your provider. Refrain from intense exercise, alcohol, saunas, excessive heat, and prolonged sun exposure for 24–48 hours after treatment.
Use gentle skincare for the first day and avoid harsh exfoliants, retinoids, or strong active ingredients until your skin has settled. Your provider will give you personalized aftercare instructions based on your treatment.
