Radiesse for Restored Volume and Natural-Looking Contours
Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) dermal filler that restores lost facial volume, smooths moderate to severe wrinkles, and stimulates natural collagen production for longer-lasting results. By adding structure and support to areas that have lost fullness due to aging, Radiesse helps create smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
It can be used to treat nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, cheeks, jawline, and even the hands, improving contour and reducing the appearance of visible tendons and veins.
Treatments are quick, typically under an hour, with minimal downtime, and results are both immediate and progressive, often lasting 12–18 months. Many clients notice visible improvement after just one session, though follow-up treatments may be recommended for optimal, long-lasting results.
What to Expect
Before Your Procedure — Pre-Treatment Instructions
To prepare for your Radiesse treatment and minimize the risk of bruising or swelling, please follow these guidelines:
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and certain herbal supplements for about 5–7 days prior to treatment, unless medically necessary or prescribed by your physician.
- Avoid alcohol consumption, intense exercise, and excessive sun exposure for 24 hours before your appointment.
- Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores, active skin infections, inflammation, or open wounds in the treatment area.
- Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or skincare products on the day of your appointment.
- Staying well hydrated in the days leading up to treatment may also support optimal skin health.
During Your Procedure
During your visit, one of our experienced medical professionals will evaluate your facial anatomy, review your aesthetic goals, and determine the most appropriate treatment areas for Radiesse.
The treatment area will be cleansed, and a topical numbing agent may be applied to maximize comfort. Radiesse is then carefully injected using a fine needle or cannula to restore volume, contour facial features, and smooth deeper lines and folds.
Most Radiesse treatments take approximately 30–45 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. You may feel slight pressure or mild pinching during the injections, but the procedure is generally well tolerated.
Results are visible immediately, though mild swelling may temporarily affect the final appearance.
After Your Procedure: Post-Treatment Instructions
After your Radiesse treatment, mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection sites may occur. These effects are common and typically resolved within a few days.
As the filler settles and collagen production increases, treated areas will appear smoother, more contoured, and naturally refreshed.
To support optimal healing and results, please follow these post-treatment guidelines:
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas unless instructed by your provider.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and excessive heat exposure for at least 24–48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications for 24 hours after treatment to minimize bruising.
- Apply cold compresses if needed to reduce swelling.
- Sleep with your head elevated the first night if possible.
Results are typically immediate and continue to improve as collagen production is stimulated over time. Most clients enjoy results lasting 12–18 months, depending on the treatment area and individual metabolism.
